Terms of Service

Last updated: July 22, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Ruffly. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. Please read them. We’ve kept them as plain as we can.

The short version. Use Ruffly to learn, be kind and lawful, keep your account secure, and understand that subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Ruffy is an AI language companion, not a certified teacher or translator, and it can make mistakes.

1. Acceptance of these terms

Ruffly is operated by [Company Legal Name] (“we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Ruffly.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use Ruffly. If you’re under the age of majority, you confirm a parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Your account

4. Acceptable use

Please use Ruffly lawfully and respectfully. You agree not to:

We may suspend or remove access to keep Ruffly safe for everyone.

5. AI-generated content

Ruffy’s responses, corrections, translations, and definitions are generated by artificial intelligence. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for a given situation. Ruffy is a learning companion, not a professional translator, teacher, or advisor. Don’t rely on it for high-stakes decisions. You’re responsible for how you use the content it generates. As between you and us, you retain your rights in the messages you submit, and you grant us a license to process them to provide and improve the service as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Subscriptions, trials & billing

Ruffly offers a 7-day free trial, then a paid plan:

Purchases are processed by Apple through your app-store account. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If you started a free trial, you’ll be charged when it ends unless you cancel first. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID (Settings) account; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Prices may change; we’ll give notice as required. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, and we generally cannot issue them directly. Current prices and any trial terms shown in the app or app store govern.

7. Intellectual property

Ruffly, the Ruffly name and mascot, the app, and its content (excluding your submissions and third-party materials) are owned by [Company Legal Name] and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app for your own language learning. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works except as allowed by these Terms.

8. Termination

You can stop using Ruffly and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. IP, disclaimers, liability, governing law) will continue to apply.

9. Disclaimers

Ruffly is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI outputs will be accurate. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, [Company Legal Name] and its providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, arising from your use of Ruffly. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or [US$50].

11. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Governing Law / Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of [Venue], unless a mandatory consumer-protection law in your country provides otherwise. [If you intend to require arbitration or a class-action waiver, add that clause here after legal review.]
